I've even tried to help one of the owner registered their dog 2 years after I sold the puppy(they lost the original paper) but they decided they didn't want to after I told them AKC's registration cost.

What gets me is how did you walk out of there with the wrong puppy? Can't believe the breeder didn't realize it until it was pointed out to her! And a week later!! I think if this happened to me I would have been calling you within a couple of hours and very embarrassed.
The papers are important to me because its like a birth certificate. I walked out with the wrong pup because I didn't think the breeder would make such a careless mistake. Female pups prices can double that of males and I never thought the breeder would be so careless. She didn't realize it herself till I pointed it out. I didn't think to check at the time untill I started noticing my toby's peeing stance.
