If this were true, the machines and their results would be allowed in court. They are not. Not only are the machines and their operators notoriously prone to errors, but they can be fooled. Furthermore, the results could be manipulated in such a way to pick on anyone they choose. I suggest online searches for further information.
While it would be possible to get charged for the crime, it would never go to trail without any further evidence other than you not taking a polygraph. In others words, you are being unreasonably pressured to take the test.
Before submitting to the test, you should seek the advise of an attorney.
BTW - I've taken the test. I was nervous. When I knew it counted, I got nervous. It was determined I lied my @ss off. I did not. I'll never, under any circumstances, submit to another polygraph test.
