Congratulations on your little rescue yorkie. I would begin giving her glucosamine immediately. I have a Bichon who was diagnosed with hip dysplasia when she was five years old. I began giving her glucosamine and she is 11 years old now and still going strong with no problems and no surgery. I give her liquid glucosamine called Syn-flex. I have never heard of leg perthes, so don't have any thoughts on that.
