4 months is NOT too old by any means to adopt a Yorkie. Me personally Id rather have the Yorkie pup between 4-6 months of age. I feel I can see the confirmation better with it, etc.
My first Yorkie was 16 weeks of age when I adopted her, (RIP). Schatzie was 3 months.
