Why not go down to your local shelter and pick something out? There are TONS of big dogs (and puppies that will turn into Big dogs), that will die if not adopted. Its sad, but its reality too. Not all are mixes, many dogs in shelters are purebred. If you adopt an adult dog, esp from a rescue, they can tell you if the dog is good with other animals or not. If you want a lab, they are one of the most abundant dogs in the shelter. |
I considered that, and I've been glancing at puppyfind here and there. I'm not completely opposed to it, but I just want a dog that I know what breeds they have in them so I can be a certain as possible that he/she will be good with the yorkies.

I fell in LOVE with a shepherd/pit mix at a shelter one time, and I still regret I didn't get that puppy. I fostered her for a week and she was so sweet, but it just wasn't a time in my life I could've gotten her. I'm all for rescues, my mom has one, and my cat is a rescue.
