The fact that PETA was the driving force behind the footage, for me, makes it even more reliable bc they are so vigilant about what they put out there, PRECISELY because of preconceived suspicions like the one you're stating above.^^^^
It's not a "preconceived suspicion" that makes me leary of PETA. (As a side note, I generally tend to research things for myself and try to avoid making blind statements without educating myself on them first.) Lots of their tactics are goals just a bit to extreme and ridiculous for my taste. Kind of a situation of the good being overshadowed by the bad. But I know I'm not the only one that feels that way, so it's all good.
I believe that it wasn't actually Iams conducting the testing, but a research company they contracted out to do it for them? Funny thing you should mention that the Iams company is making efforts to correct the situation, not to mention they've paid out a ton of $$ to charities that promote animal wellfare since...another case of the good (their efforts to right a wrong) being overshadowed by the bad, I suppose.

I completely understand people not wanting to support the company for the role it played in the ordeal. But I ask again, how many people REALLY have pulled their support from the company in ALL areas. Not just refusing to buy the food. IMO, it's easy to talk the talk of not supporting a company, but then if you turn around and support them in other ways...KWIM?
