[Sookie]

This morning I went to the dry cleaner and then stopped in Starbucks to get a coffee. There was a young guy going in ahead of me, all dressed up in a nice suit and carrying his baby in an infant seat. He seemed rushed and harried. I thought he was probably dropping his baby off at day care on his way to the office. He seemed to have one big frown on his face. I looked at the baby and she was gorgeous; big grey eyes and pink, pink cheeks. I made sure to tell him so. I told him how beautiful his baby is. He said thanks, but still seemed to be frazzled. I started talking about how unusually beautiful her eyes were, and how I never saw a baby so young with such grey eyes and such gorgeous pink cheeks. I could see he softened at that and before long he seemed to relax more and started to regal me with the wonders of parenthood and his precious infant. I felt good afterward and I think he did too!!
