If your dog has mites it looks like coffee grounds when you clean their ears, they are easy enough to treat, and once cleared up you are not usually bothered by them again. Yorkies are known also for yeast infections in their ears because of a lot of hair growing in their ears. I have also had experience with that with a pup I had gotten once that had loads of hair in his ears and would not let you clean them out. I had the vet sedate him to clean out the ears and that is when they found he had a yeast infection pretty bad. Once cleaned out and treated I was able to clean the ears each bath time, and avoid any further trouble with his ears.
Ihave to put my 2 cents in here ! I totally agree with theses two! Sorry mite can go from pet to pet! I don't have to much trouble with my yorkies with yeast or mites! I only clean the hair out every other time they are bath! Now on the other hand poodles are the worse for yeast and mites if around ones with them! I have to clean and pull hair on them inbetween gromming! Youpull the hair and clean them for you! Some charge extra I don't! lily
