I would say she was panting either from discomfort or the added heat of all those babies in there. They can actually nest for a week or more before delivery!
Yeah, I know that's typical, but I'm not sure she is...her last litter she didn't have a temp drop at all...so I can't say for sure if hers is reliable. I take her temp AT LEAST every 4 hours. Her temp stayed down at 99.3 for about 15 hours last night...so I figured that was probably it. My mentor has never had any luck taking temps (they have never been accurate for her), so she told me not to even pay attention, but I'm too paranoid not to do it at all. I figured as much about the nesting and panting...because I know for sure she hasn't been in any hard labor (obviously I suppose haha). Thanks for the info though, I always like to pick up more!
