HELLO,
I have a rescue yorkie, ive had him for over six months he was in a cage in the middle of a field for a year and a half and was in a rescue for abount six months, when i got him he coward and still gets a little nippy when you accidently touch him with your foot in the middle of the night and let me tell you how grateful these babies are and really crave attention, some times im watching tv and find him looking at me like with so much love, believe me they are timid at first and he was a little nippy at first i think its a defense mechanism that i believe he had to have to survive with, but once they no that they are loved and secure and that your here to stay for them, theres no other love,i have four yorkies now and just got another from a yt member that was allergic to him a couple of weeks ago his name is skip his mommy was allergic to him,he is 11months old and very scared,i hhad a hard time getting him out of his cage he would just shrink to the back of the kennel for about a week i let him sleep right beside me in the kennel and now he sleeps right next his mommy and has to be touching me and now he plays and plays with both my youngest yorkies including the puppy mill baby,it will take love and attention, that what they deserve and patience because skip took about two weeks just for his personalty to come out, nikki it took only a week because he had a great foster home and i believe little skip was not socialized very well,i know how it is when your allergiic,i have a cat right now im fostering, even though im allergic and can not touch him,my fiancee gives tom attention but i cannot,it really shows how much these rescues can love with time and patience. sorry it was so long
