I agree with you 100%. Never trust any professional that refuses to allow you to be with your child, when children are ready, they will ask you not to go in with them. Until that time comes you need to be there. If the dentist refused to work with you and compromise then you need to find another. I realize that sometimes parents can get pushy and overprotective, but it's the professionals JOB to deal with that not refuse admittance! You did the right thing and you know it in your heart!
