I always wonder that when breeders say you have to return the sick pup. Do they put them down? That is just part of the reason the person never returns the dog, plus they are attached at that point.
I think a good breeder then feels responsible and as said before even if they dont pay for the surgery, reimburses for the dog as they are glad (and lucky) that somebody else has taken on that burden.
