I guess part of why I didn't want to do this is because a good portion of her coat is silky. It's just from her back hips on...it gets matted sooooo easily. it never lays down, it curly, and grows very uneven. it just looks very stragly (is that a word????) when it is long. so it was very bittersweet to cut it..because I have always had it longer. and if I went any shorter, it would have looked even worse, I think. so if I can get used to this, I might keep it. but for right now, I am in freak out mode LOL
