i see you are in kentucky. I am too and I can tell you right now that people here don't give a hoot about your babies being healthy as long as they are cheap. i don't sell mine cheap and most people know it. i have only sold three puppies in our fair state. Most of the people here that contact me, get turned down as unsuitable for one of my babies. i can tell within two minutes of talking to a potential buyer, if i will let that person have my baby or not. Most breeders in kentucky don't even know their own bloodlines or what Liver Shunt and some other things yorkies get are. BUT, if you want to be a reputable breeder, you need to research, you need to test all your adult dogs and you need to know your bloodline backwards and forward. once you have that knowledge, you need to offer a health guarantee when you sell your puppies. you need to set yourself above the rest of these so-called breeders in ky that are just putting two dogs together and letting them tie. When you have puppies to sell, you need to screen your homes and don't just sell to anyone that comes along with money in their hands. once you do all that, you can view yourself as a reputable breeder and even then, others will say your are a backyard breeder so be prepared.. right now, the kentucky papers are full of four hundred dollar dogs. you need to have a better quality dog and puppies than what we normally see here in Ky. i am not fussing at you but speaking from one Kentucky girl to another. we have a different culture than most people on this board but you can raise quality puppies and be a better breeder. If people call me about my puppies and seem surprised by my prices, I tell them the paper is full of cheap, less quality dogs than what I have and by all means look there. if I can help you, please let me know
