Prices vary quite a bit...
As a buyer, I don't mind paying $1000-$3000 for a yorkie. BUT I will only pay that much for a well-bred dog from a reputable breeder....the breeder must be breeding excellent example of the breed and health screening all of their dogs before breeding. The puppy must be a good example of the breed and healthy.
I wouldn't pay $1000 for a puppy from a breeder breeding pet quality dogs though...and I especially wouldn't pay very much if they weren't health screening their dogs and puppies. BYBs that are breeding pet quality dogs and not health testing are only charging thousands because uneducated people will pay it...
