I also find I have trouble reading all the posts on here. I usually only really get to read a few posts a day. I feel bad for not responding your post.

A lot of dogs get hot spots. My dog, Cailee, is one of them. She has had all sorts of allergies. I have also given her Benadryl and it does work. You did the right thing and I'm glad Sadie is feeling better.

I also agree with YorkieRose. Cailee's old groomer used Tea Tree Oil shampoo on her and it did miracles to her coat. I still will only use shampoos that have Tea Tree Oil in them on her fur.
