 Sadie Update
I did not get much feedback when I posted about Sadie's health situation a few days ago, but thought I would post an update in hopes that it may help others.
Just as I thought, the red spot on her back was a hot spot.
I applied Neosporin on it, and the redness disappeared by the next day, but she had bit the hair off around the spot.
The vet said they do not know what causes hot spots.
She has an allergy to something, and the vet was not sure what it is. I just had new carpet put in my home three weeks ago, so maybe she is allergic to that. I sure hope not.
The vet told me to get her some grape flavored Benedryl (Childrens that is), and give her 1/8th to 1/4th of a pill every 8 to 10 hours.
After one day she is not scratching hardly at all. For awhile there it was pretty bad.
She also gave me some type of rinse to put on her after I shampoo her.
I am glad that it is not something worse, and that I did not need to leave her overnight.
