Is she listed with the YTCA site? That would be a good place to start. If she is, chances are that she will have a website. If she does and there are no red flags on the site, then google and search back as far as you can. PM who you consider reputable breeders on here and inquire if they are aware of her.
As far as asking for references, that shouldn't be an insult and I would think they would want to be forthcoming with names as they would be proud of their reputation and have several satisfied owners.
