My groomer does this once in a while and since she started, mine have had NO ear infections. Luna got a couple of infections before I had found this groomer, the other groomer didn't believe in pulling the hair out. They use a special powder to help them grip the hairs, so it's over quickly and they do get used to it. The first few times their ears were a little red afterward, but now it doesn't seem to bother them at all.
