Mostly good news. The last of the bloodwork came back, and all is well there.

The bad news is he doesn't know what caused the problem in the first place, so he has nothing to treat other than the infection.

Who knows? He had just gotten over a loose stool problem and had been on antibiotics, so maybe that caused it.

So I'm just going to keep an eye on him and make sure the irritation doesn't return. The vet wants a recheck in a month or two. He's doing well around the house in the e-collar and doesn't chew when I take it off, so I'm optimistic we'll be through with that in a week or so.
