Well, that stinks. I would think if the dog is in a kill shelter that they would adopt out to any qualified family regardless of children. The only thing I can think of is that maybe they saw some behavior when they examined her that they wanted to be careful of. I am sorry that it didn't work out for you. It was so nice of you to try.
