I did misunderstand your post and I apologized almost immediately. Did you not see that?
No, I was never a newbie - I was born to this. My Mother bred Toy Poodles and Yorkshire Terriers. I was campaigning my own Afghan Hound before I was old enough to drive myself to the shows.
A couple of months ago I decided to get another breed to show. I had a hard time finding a decent dog. When I did find one, I had to beg to get her. I know it's not easy to get started showing dogs. I really try to go out of my way to help people find a dog and learn to show. There are people that are not nice to new exhibitors and there are breeders that will sell you a pet and call it a show dog. If you are treated rudely - politely say goodbye and keep looking for someone that will help.
Notice I said to politely say goodbye. You are going to be in the show ring with these people. It is not wise to burn bridges.
