I groom myself also. I am not sure the best way to trim my 2 females? i use scissors but I am wanting to try the #10 clippers. Right now one of mine was scooting and I emptied her anal glands and a few days later she was still scooting so I picked her up and turned her on her back so I could get a better look at things and she has a little scabbing and a tiny area that was wet. I am not sure if she might have an infection or if the scooting made her irritated.
I think it is best to keep this area closely trimmed but I am a little nervous to cut too short. Although I think a few times it was shaved too close before when they would go to the groomer. SOmetimes they had razor burn and they both scooted until it healed. I hated to see them uncomfortable like that.
I also only bathe my girls once a month.
How much hair is left when using #10 blade?
