I have 2 really cute ceramic bowls I got at Walmart too, so I did some research yesterday and the day before b/c I started getting worried about them. Chicago Fox news did a story on lead in pet's toys and a ceramic pet dish. I emailed them and watched the video b/c in my search, someone had mentioned that the bowl was from Walmart and had a "name' painted in the bottom of the bowl. MY bowls have "Bone Appetit" painted in the bottom of them. The story was on the news Nov. 27th. What I saw was nothing like the bowls I got. And in most of the reading I did, the ceramic bowls if they DID have lead in them would only be a concern if the dish was chipped or broken and the dog ingested the broken pieces. I feel relatively safe using these bowls now, and I'm glad b/c they're so cute. I'll try to take a photo and post them.
Here's the email that was sent to me:
You can watch the story on our website, myfoxchicago.com. Type the words lead pet dish into the search bar. A link to the story will come up.
Best wishes from Fox News Chicago
