Glazed ceramic from Mexico can have lead in it, probably the same for China. I would be careful.
I have some cute ceramic dishes for my dogs, but I got a stainless steel bowl that fits inside them. It works great and I don't have to wonder if they are getting lead in their water or food. The ceramic also helps the stainless steel bowl not tip over. They still have the cuteness of the ceramic, but the safety of the stainless steel.
You might try it, the bowls you got are really cute!
