I agree that if you are putting his crate in a playpen, leave the door open to it, put some pp pads in the playpen so if he does have to go before youget home, he can use the pads...this will train him to use the pads and soon he be out of his crate/pen more and roam the house, having pp pads to go on "if" he needs to..
