| Our scary experience Just thought that I would share my experience.
I was a little uneasy about letting Merlot play with big dogs, just because they could step on him by accident and he could get hurt. He loves playing with them more than smaller ones, so I let him. One day at the dog park he was running around playing just fine and a female pit bull kept sniffing at him and trying to play too hard with him. He kept running away from her to play with the other dogs and I could tell he was getting annoyed, so I leashed him and we left. The next day the same thing occured with the same pitbull. Before I could get over to leash him they started fighting. The pitbull grabbed hold of my Merlot around the neck and wouldn't let go. It was the scarriest thing of my life!! I was rolling around on the ground with the two of them trying to get the pitbull off of my dog while the owner stood by. He looked like a deer caught in the headlights. Finally someone else ran over to help me. He grabbed the pit by the hind legs and he let go. Merlot turned out to be fine, just mostly really shaken up. I on the other hand won't let him ever play with big dogs again because all it takes is once and you never know with dogs. |
