size is always hard to predict ... my boy was about that weight at 8 weeks and we thought (and still hope!!) he would be in the 5-6 lb range since he was awfully chubby (he actually had ROLLS of puppy fat! LOL) but even if he stays small or grows to 10 lbs we will still love him sooo much
