A one year old is still a puppy. Training her may take a little longer than with a new puppy. I've adult yorkie rescues and have been able to train them without any real problems. It just takes time and patience.

My biggest concern here would be the fact that this dog is from Puerto Rico. There have been a number of programs on TV about the yorkies imported from south america, by and large they are not healthy dogs. For that reason alone I'd say no thanks unless you are prepared for a lifetime of vet bills.

It sounds as if your existing dog loves to play and another dog of any age will probably make her a happy camper. Just be sure that the dog you are buying is healthy.
