My breeder is a reputable show breeder, and she doesn't dock tails. She doesn't want to put the pups or the mom through it any more. Sadie's brother is going to be shown with his tail.
Sadie is as clean as any of the dogs here. Her tail doesn't get in the way of going to the bathroom... There are many dogs with long tails that have no problem in this area so that just makes no sense to me. |
I agree, I originally liked the docked look, but since it's illegal here in Europe, I had to get used to the idea that my puppy's tail will be undocked. When I got Tara I saw her cute wagging tail, I thought it was so adorable, and now I am glad she is not docked. I think it's unnecessary cosmetic procedure and truly I would not want to put my dog through it as it was said before if you love your dog you will love it with tail or not. The dogs were born with tails, let's leave them on.
Yes, it's selfish thing, and seriously we wouldn't want our ears or fingers be cut off either just because someone thinks it looks pretty.
