My sister's went throught he seperation anxiety as he got older,they told her to leave a radio on. but as his hearing and vision declined in his old age, she finally just took him to doggy day care while working!
I think most settle down after you are really gone, but I would try leaving a radio on! They also told her to leave a recorder on to see how long he carried on- he was still going when a 90 min, tape ran out!
