Oh Kelly, I know JUST how you feel girl. We were told the exact same thing when Tatum went to the vet a few days ago. I pretty much already KNEW she was too chubby...you can tell just by looking at her, lol. And it's not a hard thing to figure out because she is so much smaller than my Stedman is, and her belly is so much bigger
She was also diagnosed with LP in both back legs so we have seriously GOT to get this weight issue under control. Having extra weight on her does absolutely NO GOOD for her little legs.
I have started both of my babies on a feeding schedule as of yesterday. I put their food out twice a day now, whereas before, I free fed. They get their food when they wake up, and then a little before they go to bed at night. I will see how this goes for a while...if they act like they are starving, I may have to feed them 3 times a day instead of two. But both my vet and Tatum's breeder said that at their age (1 and 2) - twice a day is fine.
We'll see how it goes, and hopefully this will help get my little girl right where she needs to be weight wise
