I went through the same thing. With my situation it was a friends rottweiler that apparently never harmed anything. Although my gut told me NO I was talked into putting him down so she could smell him. Well, seconds later I was on the floor with her trying to get him out of her mouth. I won. But now I am terrified of bigger dogs around Frankie. I say Dont do it. Listen to your gut.
It's not worth it. If your dog is scared, maybe it's Listen to his gut.
