I bought a mom not knowing she was prego until a few weeks after we had her home (she was very early in the pregnancy when we bought her) when she had the pups they all had large open fontanels (sp), she had 4. We spent tons of $$ trying to save the babies but lost 3 of them. The mom was spayed since we didnt know if it came from her or the dad. I had never heard of it before this happened. Now it is the one thing I ask about among the hundreds of other things when buying a pup or choosing a stud for my females (we have 2).
