I think many of us like the docked tail because that's what they're used to seeing.
I'm betting that one day, docking will be illegal here for all but working dogs for whom it would be important for their safety. They look adorable with tails too! Like I said before, while I'm not an activist or have a strong preference in the look, I am guessing that God gave dogs ears and tails for a reason.
