As for the dog food, well did you know that not all bags of the same brand are exactly the same? Sometimes you can get a bad bag of food. Something that went into the making could have been moldy or worse.
I'm still thinking stress and food related, but don't mind me, I'm just an ol lady who is a bit crotchety at times.
