Sounds like your little guy was stressed when you left him alone in a strange motel, then he was ok and happy when you got back and even played and played, till you left him alone again. I think your baby was maybe too young to be locked in a crate in a strange place. He probably felt really trapped and alone. This can definately cause diarrhea. Now with the medications he's been given, can add to the problem and of course with this intestinal inflamation I'm sure the kibble is just adding to the problem.
I'm so sorry he is going thru this. I do hope things turn around for him soon. |
I guess it makes me feel a bit better that yorkies are prone to this. I would agree with the stress thing, aside from the fact that he has been going snowmobiling with us every weekend since the end of November. He wasn't left alone in a motel, he was left in the truck in his crate, with his heated crate pad, just like every other time. The loose stool started Sat. morning, before we even left him.
He hasn't been on any meds, and gets Innova puppy food, which he's been on for months. The dr. said he probably got into something on Thursday or Friday, which I just can't think of what as I watch him like a hawk. However, he does go outside in the backyard by himself. I kept racking my brain to remember if he got anything he shouldn't have at home.
I have already planned to start him back on bland homecooked food, such as white chicken and brown rice. I just have such anxiety because I don't know what is going on with him. What a horrible feeling. Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.
