I think the problem comes when a yorkie is introduced to kids after the yorkie is grown and has never had the opportunity to grow up around small children. If the yorkie has been around small children since birth, you should have no problems. That's what I've been told anyway.
With saying that, I would also say you have to teach children to have respect for the dog, and the dog will have respect for the child. Hope this helps!
