I like LilMissMagic's suggestion of taking them with you to find someone there to watch them. That way you'd be closer to be able to check on them. If you can't do that, I'd check with a vet in the area. They would be the "strangers" that I would trust the most.

I want to take them with, but we'll be staying at my Moms house with my 5
grandkids, two of which are toddlers. The airplane trip alone would stress the furbutts, not to mention 5 little ones trying to play with them all the time. I don't know, I still have time to figure out what I'm gonna do.
