That article made me sick.
Foreclosure is NOT an excuse to abandon your animals and leave them inside to starve. Foreclosure is the reason we had to move and rehome our pets. My God, the thought of leaving them there would have never even crossed my mind. I don't know how someone could do that. and its not like foreclosure comes up on you like "wham!" we knew for almost a year that we'd be losing our house. and even if the bank doesn't tell you a year in advance, the person knows if they're paying their bills or not. Obviously if they're not paying their bills, they're going to lose their house.
I don't have a problem with people rehoming pets because of a situation like that. What I have a problem with is people who leave pets behind like a piece of crap and don't even attempt to find them a good home. |
