We purchased a Yorkshire Terrier puppy from Deanna Pedley who is a puppy broker in Yuba City, California for $1500.00. We were told by her that she was selling it for a man who had just had a heart attack and needed the money. It turns out that she actually bought the puppy from a breeder for $635.00 and re-sold it to us. Profit is fine, the lies aren't. Now the dog has some internal health issues that require steroids and antibiotics. From that vet visit is was determined that the dog may not even be a pure breed, it can't ever have a litter, it has congenital knee and hip issues, it has two sets of teeth (in-bred) and has a severe skin and boil disorder that appears to be immune to both the steroids and antibiotics. We have asked her to make things right by asking for at least refunding us the profit she made so we can pay the vet bills and even potentially "put the dog down" as the vet recommended as an option. We have also found an incredible amount of negative postings on various Yorkie websites about her doing the same thing to other pet buyers. When confronted her response was "I'll give you a really good deal on a new puppy, maybe $700 or $800 dollars."
Please...do not have dealings with this woman. If you have, PLEASE contact us as we've taken steps to end her brokering business. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated.
The kicker to the whole story...her mother in law lives across the street from us and when she told us that the gentleman she was selling it for wanted $2000, she said she couldn't ask us to pay that much as we were "friends of the family."
