Bella only barks when she's out back and hears something on the other side of the fence, she's just being protective. We don't leave her outside so it's not a problem. She never barks inside, she'll "talk" to me when she wants to play but it's just a single quick muffled bark. We even took her to the sportsman show this past weekend and there were dogs all over the place and people testing animal calls (bird, elk, deer, etc) and she never barked once. I'm sure there are exceptions to the rule but we've never had a problem
