Some yorkies bark incessantly. Some don't. Mine seldom barks. I suppose you never know what you're getting until you get it and I would think that would apply to all dogs not just yorkies. Early socialization should help eliminate excessive barking, but I couldn't say that would always be the case. I doubt that anyone could say that with any conviction. Some yorkies are very hyper and some are laid back. Just like people.
