I would not allow a Pit in my home or yard. It is not the breeds fault..it is the fault of the breeder and owners...most have no clue what breeding and owning a Pit Bull entails...too many come from mills and BYBer's. If you get a crazy Yorkie, you will wind up with a few bite marks on your hand or ankle some times..if you have a crazy Pit, you can wind up badly injured or dead...my SIL lost her index finger in Dec to her "darling" Pit who never bit anyone...
