I forgot to mention something in my post about Gracie's surgery for LP that she had today. The surgeon diagnosed Grade 2 on the left and Grade 3 on the right pre-op. It was the right leg that was causing Gracie symptoms, at least that is the leg she held up when going down the stairs. After surgery, he told me that mechanically, the left was actually worse than the right. Point of the story is this: You can't necessarily depend upon a dog's symptoms and x-ray findings when making a decision about doing the LP surgery. I came THIS close to not having the left one fixed. I'm now glad I did.
