I also wouldn't keep the school involved. Have testing done without the school helping. Have your Dr. recommend someone. Sometimes, when schools get involved they have a tendency to "label" a child.
My son had ADD and was also on Concerta. D's and F's became A's, B's and few C's. He was able to stay focused more. Believe it or not, when we went to a specialist for ADD/ADHD the Dr. told us that one 'symptom' was that the sock had to be pulled very tight before a shoe would be put on. My son had done that and it annoyed him so much if it wasn't done right. It really blew me away to know that can be a symptom. Another test that was given: he was to copy (draw) a simple square, or another simple line and my son couldn't do it. It would be real sloppy. By the time it went from his brain to his hand it was garbled.
He's 17 now, diagnosed in 4th grade. Sure wish I had had him tested earlier. Now he's doing great and no more Concerta. Some can outgrow it, some don't.
