I sell my pet puppies on a spay and neuter contract with limited registration period...I do not release papers until I have proof of spay from a vet on their letter head...once you get the papers if you choose not to register them it doesn't matter to me because you can't breed them anyway but my yorkies are registered with AKC and the dam and sire I have now are both champions and have mulitple champions in their lines and I don't want my mentors lines ruined by someone breeding my pups. Now, when I place a pet pup they will be spayed or neutered before leaving my house! My first yorkie was akc but I never sent in papers because I had her spayed and before I learned anything the breeder (unethical I might add) gave me breeding rights but I wanted a pet and after I had to put her to sleep at age 7 because of genetic issues that's when I became so passionate about this breed and learned everthing I could and I'm still learning...And also, I wouldn't ever sell a show dog with breeding rights without first getting permission from both my dam and sire's breeders!
