Puddin' purrs ... he'll come, sit at my feet (or in my lap if he can get to it!) look at me and purr. He's starting to make a lot of other vocalizations, too. As with your descriptions, it's not a growl or a bark ... those are very identifieable, even his play growl. He's trying to communicate. It's one of his most endearing qualities.
We've decided that he's so much fun, we'd like to get him a companion. The problem is that we have become so spoiled by the wonderfulness that is Puddin', that any other pup will have very large (small?) shoes to fill.
