If "animal rights" was never started - there probably would be an even more paltry amount of animal rescue. One begets the other.
If you read my previous post (page 2 I think) - it quotes PETA's website on pets - and it absolutely does NOT say what you say above. Maybe read their website before you judge too harshly.
