I would def. recommend getting an xpen. It's made life with a puppy sooo much easier! He still goes in his crate at night. I feel safer that way knowing that he absolutely can't get into anything LOL! Puppies are crazy! The crate stays by our bed at night and during the day he goes in his xpen unless we leave the house without him and then he goes back in his crate (usually not for more than a couple of hours) The xpen is in the kitchen which is a very common room in the house, so he is confined without being away from us but still in an open area that he can play in. I put a puppy pad in one corner and his food, water, toys and open crate in another corner. Recentley, I've been able to take the pad up because he is doing better with pottying outside. Also, I read that other people on here will put a peice of lenolium flooring under the xpen if it has to be on carpet. Good Luck with your new puppy! |
